We Work Closely Together with our Clients
No matter where you are in your product development journey, we make sure to be by your side every step of the way. Lime Design believes in fostering a collaborative relationship with our clients. Together with your ideas and our expertise, we work on developing solutions to accomplish what we are trying to create. We usually have bi weekly meetings with our clients to review what has been made and to discuss how to move forward. Our state of the art facility is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 7pm for meetings and brainstorming sessions. No matter how big or small your product is, we make the time for your products.
In addition to the services we offer, we also have a large network of patent attorneys we can recommend. Lime Design has been in the business for over 20 years and along the way has worked with amazing attorneys who all specialize in the product development industry. Just as it is important to develop your product successfully, it is equally as important to protect your idea. We Help Protect Your Idea
Provisional Patent
Provisional Patent is the first step of the process. This grants you a start date before actually filing your Utility Patent. This gives you 1 year to fully develop your idea.
Design Patent
A Design Patent protects the look of your product. This usually can be used in conjunction with the Utility Patent to provide more protection.
Utility Patent
A Utility patent is typically a stronger form of protecting you idea. A Utility Patent protects the function and how the product works.
Trademark & Copyright
Trademarks and Copyright protects various aspects associated with you brand, including names, logos, slogans, symbols, designs, and works of arts.

Every idea or invention is very different in regards to complexity, size, materials, and other variables. That being said, having a budget of roughly $10,000+ for the development of less complex projects will be enough to get started. Contact us to set up a discovery call with our team of engineers and we will give you an accurate quote of what your project will cost to bring to life.
Every product takes a different amount of time to bring to life, depending on its complexity. It also depends on what stage you’re going to. For example, prototypes take less time than a full manufacturer-ready product. So for a fully ready product, you can expect a minimum of 5-6 months and a maximum of 12-14 months. But again every project differs, so take this with a grain of salt.
Patenting
Yes, we offer various patent protection aid for your ideas such as drawings, writings, and designs. We closely work with a few trusted patent attorneys to help you patent your idea, ensuring that it remains yours and yours alone.
There are 3 main types of patents.
Utility Patent | Design Patent | Plant Patents
Once you have an idea for a product, it’s a good idea to get a provisional patent. This patent will protect you for a year but then after this time, you have to apply for a real patent. Such as a design patent, utility patent, or plant patent. These patents will protect your idea for 15-25 years.
