Product Development
Working alongside the Chance for Recovery team, we crafted a slim, durable holder that accommodates all standard nasal naloxone spray devices. Our approach balanced everyday carryability with the urgent need for immediate access—resulting in a holder that’s easy to attach to belts, bags, or keychains while prominently labeling the contents for clarity.
Prototyping
Through multiple rapid prototyping cycles, we fine-tuned the holder’s fit, feel, and usability. We tested various materials and opening mechanisms to ensure the holder allows quick release of naloxone in an emergency yet resists accidental openings. Feedback from first responders and community testers helped refine tactile design and durability.
Patenting Support
We assisted Chance for Recovery with the patent application for US Patent No. 11,116,921, ensuring their holder design was well protected. Our support included preparing technical drawings, detailed descriptions, and packaging the filing to meet patent office standards.
Manufacturing Setup
After final prototyping, we sourced reliable manufacturers to produce Chance holders at scale. We managed production planning, matching materials and tooling to holder specifications. The result is a quality-consistent product ready for distribution through naloxone providers, pharmacies, and outreach programs.

Chance holders are designed to be life-saving tools, not just accessories. They help bridge critical response gaps for overdose emergencies by ensuring naloxone is always close—and clearly identified—when every second counts.
Prototyping
Our design process began with extensive hand-drawn concept sketches, exploring different retention styles, mounting orientations, and ways to balance protection with quick-release access.
These sketches laid the groundwork for our 3D printed prototypes, which we tested for grip strength, ease of removal, and portability. Over multiple iterations, we refined the holder’s design—choosing a profile that could securely cradle the nasal spray while maintaining one-handed operation and minimal obstruction.
We also created patent-style CAD renderings (as seen below) to illustrate the holder’s fit, alignment with a mobile-sized backplate, and slide-in retention features.
