Design Focus:
Outdoor solar-powered speaker with timer
Bring realism to your hunting or wildlife management strategy with our solar-powered, programmable speaker system designed to simulate human activity in remote environments. Designed to blend into forested and wooded terrain, the ATV Sound Imitation Device plays urban and mechanical sounds on a timer to acclimate animals to human presence, making it easier for hunters to approach unnoticed.
At Lime, we partnered closely on every phase of development for this project, from initial concepts to technical execution.
Concept Refinement:
Prototype improvements
The project began with earlier grey-housed prototypes and evolved into a fully camouflaged and rugged solution, both functionally and aesthetically. We reimagined the product’s shape, size, and mounting system, transitioning it into a compact, bracket-laced, weatherproof unit with a grommet-sealed ammo can latch enclosure.

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering:
Efficient electrical implementation
We designed the full electrical architecture, integrating a solar charge controller, 12V 7Ah battery, and dual speaker system capable of 180 dB output (targeted). The control system includes a programmable microcontroller, LCD interface, and options for remote operation. Features include:
- Up to 8 programmable alarms per day
- Random hour playback capability
- Up to 30-second audio clips
- Stereo sound output with high-decibel capability
- Custom audio slot recording via onboard microphone
- Military-time track scheduling
- Up to 26+ days of operation without solar, thanks to precise energy budgeting
3D Modeling & Camouflage Design:
Visualizing Function and Modularity
We produced a series of realistic camo mockups and exploded technical views, modeling every component: from solar panels and speakers to LCD housings and waterproofing systems. The casing was refined to blend naturally into wooded surroundings, with detailed attention to geometry and finish.
